Lonesome Day Records Signs
The Boohers
"Grandma's Songs" To Be Released Spring 2005

BOONEVILLE, KY - (January 15, 2005) Lonesome Day Records is very proud to announce they have signed the bluegrass band, The Boohers to a recording contract. Their new release is entitled “Grandma's Songs” and is set for a late spring release. Lonesome Day Records President, Randall Deaton stated, “The first thing I noticed about the Boohers was their incredible determination to play the kind of music they love. They have a desire and a passion for bluegrass music that is second to none. Perhaps the only thing more impressive than their tight family harmonies and unbridled joy for the music is how they are as human beings. They are some of the nicest, sincerest, and most humble people you will ever meet. Lonesome Day Records is very proud to help continue the tradition of great family bands in bluegrass music.”

Band members include: Lora Booher, vocals and guitar; Gary Booher, vocals and banjo; Joseph Booher, vocals and mandolin; Jamey Booher, vocals and bass; and Rachel Johnson on fiddle. The Boohers are from northeast Tennessee, an area with a rich heritage in bluegrass, gospel, country and old-time mountain music known as “The Bluegrass Heartland.” Adam Steffey from the band Mountain Heart said, "Lora Booher's voice has a clear, convincing quality that makes you both believe and understand what she's talking about. Lora delivers the message with a style and flair that makes you just know she's experienced what she's singing about.”

“Grandma's Songs”, their fourth album, follows on the heels of the all-gospel project titled, “There's a Miracle Everywhere You Go”, the title cut from this release was written by the esteemed Tom T. and Dixie Hall. “We were so impressed by their talents. We feel like we've known them forever and highly recommend them,” said Dixie Hall. Radio personality and Co-Founder of the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance Tim White agrees saying, “Fantastic pickers with that unforgettable, fine family harmony. These folks are great.”
