Lonesome Day Records to Release New Album by

Lou Reid and Carolina

BOONEVILLE, KY - (February 11, 2005) – North Carolina based bluegrass band, Lou Reid and Carolina are currently in the studio finalizing their new album on Lonesome Day Records set for a spring 2005 release date.  Band members include, Lou Reid, Christy Reid, Kevin Richardson, Trevor Watson and Joe Hannabach with guests Vince Gill, Jerry Douglas, Randy Kohrs (Dobro/vocals) and Ron Stewart (fiddle).  The project will include other special guests to be announced soon.  

Lou Reid has had a very impressive career including being one of the founding members of Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver and also a former member of Ricky Skaggs band.  Today you can safely say he is one of the hardest working musicians in the business performing in three critically acclaimed bands, the Seldom Scene, award-winning band Longview and of course, Lou Reid and Carolina.  Lou is very excited about this new album and stated, “I think Randall Deaton knows exactly where he wants to take Lonesome Day Records.  They are right on course for making their mark in the bluegrass recording industry.  The sound he and Ron Stewart are producing is a state of the art recording.  I look forward to seeing the Lou Reid and Carolina project through to its completion and I know I’m going to love the end result.”

The CD includes songs written by Shawn Camp, Buck Owens, Brink Brinkman, Mike Evans, John Cadley, Craig Market, Elmer Burchett, Ray Edwards, Roy McMillan, Terry Foust, Dave Carroll and Teddy Cosby.  The album is being engineered and mixed by Ron Stewart.
