Randy Kohrs Nominated for Dobro Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association

NASHVILLE, TN (9.06.05) Nashville singer and master Dobroist, Randy Kohrs has been nominated as Dobro Player of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). The awards are voted on by the professional membership of this organization and winners will be announced at the 2005 International Bluegrass Music Awards Show on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Kohrs was also chosen to perform with his band at the IBMA Business Conference as a Showcase Artist and at the IBMA FanFest the same week.

Kohrs’ Lonesome Day Records album, I’m Torn has spent eight months on the Bluegrass charts this year climbing as high as #6. Two singles from the project made the charts as well including the title cut reaching #5 and his duet with Dolly Parton “It Looked Good on Paper”. The album has also climbed as high as the #3 top bluegrass albums on Power Source Magazine’s charts, and charted on Americana, Roots and folk charts as well. It has received numerous honors including being named the #1 Bluegrass Album on WNCW radio.

Kohrs is also a highly sought after studio musician appearing on more than 400 albums including the upcoming new release by Randy Travis and this year's Grammy® nominated album, “The Bluegrass Sessions”.
